Meme from Madeleine + some

Clicky )

Home for the summer. Working at Smokey Joe's dishing out potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, pulled pork/chicken/beef BBQ sandwiches, ribs, fries, and such. And doing lots of dishes. And makin' lots of monays! But not really. Only compared to the money I didn't make when I didn't have a job. So, in comparison to zero it's a lot.

When I'm not working I'm hanging out with whoever wants to make time to hang out with me. Or sleeping. Or interneting. My life is so exciting right now! I was being sarcastic there, but it actually kind of is. Making money is fun. I actually have gone shopping with my own money and bought things on my own, rather than get my mom to take me. Am I on the way to being a big kid now??! I'm turning 21 in like, half a year. I guess it's about time I've made the step up from diapers to pull-ups. Hah. Will update as more stuff comes along, I suppose. Byezz!!

Suck.

Things that I hate at this moment in time, but will probably get over when I'm not PMS-ing and overwhelmed with work:

-Advisor meetings
-Flute Ensemble, and the music department here in general
-Stupid hot weather and not enough summer clothes
-Getting my period earlier than expected and bleeding through my capris
-Housing selection
-Class registration
-Numerous papers and presentations that are all due the same week because my teachers suck
(-and in general too much to do before the semester is over)
-Everyone within a mile vicinity
-Text messages from strangers
-Massive headaches

Back to work I go. At least I'm now on page 5 of my "scriptural analysis" due tomorrow evening. Has to be 6-8 pages so I guess that's something to be optimistic about. BalkhflkaHFSlskfhragrh. No more 19 credit semesters for me.

La Entrevista

This is so late, it's ridiculous.

Interview Me Meme.
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on...

Rachel's Questions )

Isn't it awesome how I always get sick right before my breaks from school?!  I guess in a way it is, because I don't have to miss classes when I just lounge in bed.  But being sick in general sucks.  At least I have my own bed here at home.

Also, tell me this isn't weird. )

Hope your Spring Breaks are going/will be swell.  :)
Pffttt spring break...as I look out my window at the 1.5 feet of snow on the ground....why bother giving us this break.  I'll take it when it's actually Spring. I had enough of Winter Break already.  Booo. I'm such a whiner.

Madeleine said to, and I haven't posted in forever anyways.

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

1. First Name: Kathleen. But if you call me that I'll freak out because it either means you're mad at me or don't know me well enough to be talking to me in the first place.

2. Age: 19.33333 years of age.

3. Location: Living at home with mis padres in Maryland. School location is more or less Philadelphia.

4. Occupation: Student. Major: Spanish. Minor: Business. I applied at Subway for summer work and if they hire me I will be a Sandwich Artist!

5. Partner: There's no one right now. My last relationship "took a break" last summer before I left for school, and then I ended it in January. I may or may not have a tiny crush on one of my buddies though...we'll see how that ends up.

6. Kids: I like making faces at them. But if we're talking about my own, that shouldn't come 'til much later in el futuro.

7. Siblings: One older little sister. She's good people. Although I feel like she sometimes is too self-absorbed, she generally has good intentions. She can work a crowd like a beast and anyone who she encounters will most likely come close to dying of laughter at some point in their relationship...if not many occasions. She's passionate about everything she does, be it writing, swimming, reading, video gaming, eating, telling jokes, giving advice, or falling in love. She used to hate me always following her around and trying to be like her, but I like to think we now have a mutual love and respect for each other. I consider her one of my very best friends.

8. Pets: Felix is the most amazing cat in the world! Except when she (yes, SHE...) goes all bi-polar on you and decides it's a good idea to try to gnaw your arm off. But that rarely happens. She's black and white like her name suggests, and is pretty tiny for a nine year old cat. She'll come running from the woods when she hears us pull into the driveway, or ring the doorbell with her face if she's outside and wants to come in. It's cute, except at 3 in the morning.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
i. My mom and I are going an a pilgrimage with a church group to Spain/France/Portugal to see Lourdes and Fatima and other religious-y stuff I suppose.
ii. I have a school job as one of six bloggers who write about our experiences at CHC and try to convince potential students that it's the place they want to be. $12.00/blog!
iii. I beat RockBand playing drums on hard and am halfway through expert. Subway really needs to hire me so I have something else to do with my summer.
iv. I'm trying to get in shape and run a mile on the treadmill a couple times a week. I feel like this would have a more drastic (and positive) effect on my body if I knew how to stop eating junk!

10. Parents: My mom and dad have been married for 22 years. My dad was in the Navy and met my mom in the Philippines while on a tour there. They both have high expectations for their daughter and want nothing but the best for everyone in our family. They are very charitable people but sometimes it seems to me as though they're charitable simply so they can say that they are, rather then just doing it to do it.

11. Who are some of your closest friends? It's hard to say. Although I get along with basically everyone I meet, I don't really feel super close and connected to someone until I cry in front of them. And not because of a sappy sob-story movie, but because I opened up and let them see that vulnerable side of me. I have fun with a ton of people though and would say I'm close to them, but on a different kind of level. Anyways, I'd say my closests are...my sister and a few other people (a couple from home, a couple from college) who I have deep heart-to-hearts and cryfests with on a regular basis.

G'night!

I'm as good at making analogies as Edgar Allen Poe is at not being depressing.

HOLY BAJOLY, FRESHMAN YEAR IS OVER. After exams this week, anyways. So weird. It flew by like a dove out of a magician's sleeve.

........

...Apparently college hasn't improved my ability to make effective analogies because that was superlame. Like a midget with no legs. Oh god, I'm horrible!

Anyways, I should be studying so I'm just going to cheat and tell you guys to check out my "multiply" site. I use it to mainly keep track of family doings, and wrote out a blog there and posted picture highlights of this year. Check them out; it was an eventful one! I don't think you need to be a member or anything to see it all either. Just do it.

Click here to be transferred to my multiply page!

Good luck with finishing up your exams and such. I know I need good vibes sent my way so I get through this week...

Photos from the UN trip here! )

I am almost a Spanish major! With a possible minor in business administration, but I haven't gotten all the paperwork turned in to make it official yet. I was planning on staying a business major, but some random, spontaneous thought made me go talk to the head of the Spanish department and do that junks instead. I just realized that maybe it was the trip to the United Nations that helped push me in that direction? Or maybe it was something my Spanish teacher said. Whatever it was...I'm surprised at how excited I am about this, haha.

Anyways. School has been going pretty well, especially since I withdrew from the honors seminar thing because it suckkkkkkkkked. Way too much reading every night, leaving not enough time for me to do anything else I wanted to. AKA Jazz Ensemble, Hill Singers, Pep Band, volleyball games, and other various extra-curricular activities. (Yeah, yeah..I'm still a band nerd, even in college.) But I'm doing pretty well now. I still get terribly home and friend-sick every once in a while, but I'm holding my own.

Still can't wait for Thanksgiving Break! Mmmm I miss home food..

Happy Turkey Day, kiddos

So today's the day. The day when text messaging is off the hook like crazy, and the house is making dinner and cleaning like crazy, and the kitty is outside making doody in the plants. lol. I did the whole 'happy thanksgiving, i'm thankful for you' text messaging to kids last year, but everyone else beat me to it this time around and since I like to be different, I decided against that stuff, and now I'm here, doing this. Wow, I like commas?

Anyways. Onward to the sappy 'I'm thankful for..." list.

awww...how sweet. )

Have a joyous Thanksgiving my friends. =]

My bad, this is Katie's sister. I accidentally posted my entry under her name.

But whatever. This is fun.

What can I write about her?

Katie has a tendency to snore (although she'll deny it), and sometimes she sleeps with her mouth wide open. She's cute when she's awake, but when she's sleeping...she's so ungraceful. Sometimes, it's awkward.

She says I'm a good writer. Which is nice, because she's awesome at music, and I'd like to have a talent, too.

You might not believe it, but Katie's a better person than me. Even though our parents give her a hard time, she's never done anything really bad (oh, the things I was doing when I was her age...*cringe*). Plus, she has the biggest heart. And I love her for it.

And this really is Christa. Ask Alison. She's with Katie at the River Concert thing so she can vouch for that. Plus, Katie is way too modest to write all this shit about herself.

You be good to her. You break her heart/spirit/feelings, I'll break your face.

i kick butt at uno. =P

i got a surprise birthday party! but if i were smart at all, i would have figured it out...there were little things all week that i could have figured everything out on, but didn't pay much attention to until today. anyways, it was all good fun. we went to the movies and saw "racing stripes" and i honestly had no idea that it was going to be about a zebra. the commercials that i saw for it had dancing flies in them. but i don't remember any zebras. hrm.
after the movie i opened my front door to balloons and streamers and my family screaming at me. it was actually kind of scary. we ate mucho food, watched mulan 2, taught madeleine how to play uno [WITH WATERPROOF CARDS! lol..] and tied glowsticks to the ceiling fan in my room (with the lights off, duh) and watched them go around and around and around and around...good times.
anyways.
when it was just alison and i left we went crazy with the camera. after cutting up the care bears tablecloth and making shapes out of it. you must see the pictures of alison's care bear mask. but i have no idea how to download the pictures onto the computer so...maybe christa can come home right...NOW and do it for me. or my mom can. or you just don't get to see the pcitures. =P but they so fun.

now it's late. and i should sleep.

goodnight, my friends. =]

::getting letters in the mail
::craig

Aug. 2nd, 2004

good times.

*sigh* i like my friends. or i just might like them because they make me feel smarter, but then the ryken crew makes me feel dumber so it all evens out.

so. yesterday was the long-awaited trip to kings dominion. 'twas i, alison, jojo, craig, hayley, and kayla (now known as "Hayla," since my parents suck at their names for some reason.). i actually went on those creepy rollercoaster things and enjoyed myself. but not the wooden ones. i don't trust those at all. nope. i EVEN was excited about going on the Drop Zone, and was sitting in the chair, all giddy and excited about being brought up to and dropped from a million feet off of the ground, when the announcer starts talking about how sorry he is that they're not letting us go up, and it's closing due to inclement weather. he even threw in a "we hate you george and steven" in there. i'm guessing that they're the manager people who stopped the ride, and i think i hate them too. boooo.

anyways..after we found out it was going to storm, we decided to go swimming. THAT way, we'd already be wet when it started raining. we so smart. but the wave pool thing made me feel nauseous. we quit swimming and walked around for a while, looking for a food place when it started pouring rain. I LOVE RAIN! alison and i decided to walk around in circles and stomp in puddles for a while, and the non-ducky people (get it? cuz ducks like water. haha. i rock.) stayed inside watching forest gump. but not really watching the movie, cuz there was something wrong with the movie and all you could see was a foot and it wasn't moving. yesh. [insert story about creepy stalker guy here...don't feel like typing that all when i could talk about other stuff.]

we walked to the indoor rollercoaster, (either called flight of fear or the outer limits, not sure which, i heard both thrown around..) but that wasn't open for strange reasons.

ater that we headed to the theater so see Spongebob, 3-D!! but that wasn't playing, so we watched some racing thing instead. that was pretty cool though.

potty break, getting separated and lost, trip to the lockers and candy store is all that happened after the racing thing, before my mom called and told us that they were in the parking lot, waiting for us (me, alison, and hayley...the lost ones.).

i thought that the ride home would be boring, since everyone would be all tired and sore...but we were all hyper as crap. (probably the cotton candy and toblerone that we bought in the candy store right before we left.) i feel bad for christa, after reading her entry. (although she DID sing with us, she quit after a while and tried to sleep..sowwee.) we sang disney, veggie tales, and christmas songs before we got to hayleys house to drop her off. the songs took forever to sing, since we were doing them one word at a time, with each person singing a word, and then moving on around the circle...i think everyone was done with the singing after i tried to start "99.9 bottles of beer on the wall, 99.9 bottles of beeeeeer. take .1 down, pass it around, 99.8 bottles of beer on the wall. 99.8 bottles of beer on the wall..." got home at midnight-30. slept.

writing a bunch of it down, it seems like we didn't do much. but it was still awesome. being out of the house all day, away from my family (no offense xa), taking random pictures and making a "still life" consisting of my phone, bracelet, kayla's bracelet, money, a pen, keys and a keychain, an aquafina bottle, and some other random stuff from people's bags..good times indeed.
